In West Moors Guides unit, we cover a wide range of activities that Guides enjoy. The girls help to develop the programme of activities and are sometimes responsible for running them in small groups.
We had a great time on guide camp last year and got to try climbing, camp crafts and a visit to monkey world. We also built our own rafts some were more successful than others! Guide camp is a great time to kick back relax and get to know each other even better.
Recently we have also been to PGL and Butchers Coppice where we undertook some team challenges, we had fun bouldering at Project Climb and Zorbing at our division day. In our meetings we have been doing our ‘Go for its’ in our patrols activities included cooking, sports and crafts and completed our world traveller badge. Four girls have just completed their Baden-Powell Challenge which is the highest award that can be achieved in Guides.
We are looking forward to camping at the county camp on Brownsea Island in the summer, a ‘who dunit?’ weekend, den building, outdoor cooking, more ‘Go for its’ and boating in the coming months.
In the summer holidays, we are looking forward to going to Castaway camp on Brownsea Island and going to Wellies and Wristbands with Rangers. We are also going to Disneyland Paris in October half term.
